South Lake Tahoe and the encircling unincorporated communities are serviced by Lake Tahoe Unified School District, which is composed of four elementary schools: Bijou Community School, Sierra House Elementary School, Tahoe Valley Elementary School, and the Lake Tahoe Environmental Science Magnet School, a middle school, South Tahoe Middle School, and a high school, South Tahoe High School.
