Location in Ventura County and the state of California Location in Ventura County and the state of California Oak View is an unincorporated improve in Ventura County, California, United States positioned along the Ventura River between the suburbs of Casitas Springs (south) and Mira Monte (north) in a narrow river valley.

For statistical purposes, the United States Enumeration Bureau has defined Oak View as a census-designated place (CDP).

At the 2010 census, the populace of Oak View was 4,066, down from 4,199 at the 2000 census, making it the third biggest improve between Ojai and the town/city of Ventura.

The town of Oak View "sprang up" in the late 1940s and early 1950s as a bedroom improve primarily, although not exclusively, for those who worked in the petroleum trade in close-by Ventura.

At various times the people of Oak View have contemplated incorporation as an alternative to being governed by the County of Ventura.

Oak View is positioned at 34 23 51 N 119 18 0 W (34.397416, -119.300127). According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the CDP has a total region of 2.0 square miles (5.2 km2), all of it land.

Although Oak View is positioned inside the Ojai Valley, the town itself is positioned inside the boundaries of the Ventura Unified School District.

There is one school in Oak View, Arnaz Elementary (aka, Sunset Elementary), which is positioned on the south portion of the town, at 400 Sunset.

Previously two schools served the town, however, Oak View Elementary School, positioned off of Santa Ana Boulevard, was closed by the district.

Public Libraries: Ventura County Library - 14 locations with three chapters in the Ojai Valley: Oak View Library, Ojai Library, and Meiners Oaks Library.

The ethnic makeup of Oak View was 3,227 (79.4%) White, 11 (0.3%) African American, 63 (1.5%) Native American, 34 (0.8%) Asian, 3 (0.1%) Pacific Islander, 575 (14.1%) from other competitions, and 153 (3.8%) from two or more competitions.

The Enumeration reported that 4,066 citizens (100% of the population) lived in homeholds, 0 (0%) lived in non-institutionalized group quarters, and 0 (0%) were institutionalized.

There were 1,419 homeholds, out of which 495 (34.9%) had kids under the age of 18 living in them, 790 (55.7%) were opposite-sex married couples living together, 139 (9.8%) had a female homeholder with no husband present, 106 (7.5%) had a male homeholder with no wife present.

262 homeholds (18.5%) were made up of individuals and 82 (5.8%) had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

The populace was spread out with 971 citizens (23.9%) under the age of 18, 356 citizens (8.8%) aged 18 to 24, 1,013 citizens (24.9%) aged 25 to 44, 1,310 citizens (32.2%) aged 45 to 64, and 416 citizens (10.2%) who were 65 years of age or older.

2,834 citizens (69.7% of the population) lived in owner-occupied housing units and 1,232 citizens (30.3%) lived in rental housing units.

There were 1,430 homeholds out of which 37.8% had kids under the age of 18 living with them, 60.3% were married couples living together, 9.2% had a female homeholder with no husband present, and 25.2% were non-families.

In the CDP, the populace was spread out with 28.0% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 30.7% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 8.3% who were 65 years of age or older.

About 5.3% of families and 6.0% of the populace were below the poverty line, including 6.1% of those under age 18 and 9.5% of those age 65 or over.
