Lost Hills is positioned 42 miles (68 km) west-northwest of Bakersfield, at an altitude of 305 feet (93 m). The populace is 2,412 at the 2010 census, up from 1,938 at the 2000 census.

Lost Hills is positioned at 35 36 59 N 119 41 39 W. It stands on the east bank of the California Aqueduct.

The town is at the intersection of State Route 46 and Lost Hills Road.
