Lake Forest, California is positioned in the US Lake Forest, California - Lake Forest, California Lake Forest is a town/city in Orange County, California.

Lake Forest incorporated as a town/city on December 20, 1991.

Prior to incorporation, the improve had been known as El Toro. Following a vote in 2000, Lake Forest period its town/city limits to include the master-planned developments of Foothill Ranch and Portola Hills.

Lake Forest (along with its neighboring metros/cities Mission Viejo and Irvine) is ranked as one of the safest metros/cities in the country. Lake Forest has two lakes from which the town/city gets its name.

Lake 1, known as the Lake Forest Beach and Tennis Club, and Lake 2, the Sun and Sail Club.

Lake Forest Sports Park and Recreation Center opened on November 1, 2014, athwart the street from Saddleback Church. The 86.2-acre Sports Park, assembled with fees collected from developers for a "study" that led to the rezoning of encircling areas, is one of the biggest sports parks in Orange County. The Recreation Center homes classrooms/activities rooms and a gymnasium, hosting many education and recreation programs that have previously been hosted at the rented City Hall facility. Lake Forest is also home to two county parks.

Heritage Hill Historical Park and Museum is home to some of the earliest buildings in Orange County, including the Jose Serrano Adobe, an initial adobe home and settlement assembled in 1863; El Toro's first school, the old El Toro School House; El Toro's first church, St.

Georges Episcopal Church; and the Harvey Bennett Ranch House, assembled in 1908, from which the Bennett Ranch evolution in Lake Forest derives its name.

The Bennett's son, Richard Beach Bennett, was educated in Animal Husbandry at California Polytechnic State University, Pomona, and interval replacement trees for farmers, before starting his own ranch in Balcom Canyon in Ventura County.

Lake Forest has one high school, El Toro High School.

It has established itself as one of the top[specify] schools in Southern California, along with the other three elected high schools in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District. The mascot is a bull and its squads are known as the Chargers.
